Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again.
Photography is an unbounded pursuit in all of its aspects. One can spend an entire lifetime engaged in photography and there will still remain room to explore, learn, and create. For me, the limitless aspects of photography make it fascinating and enjoyable. Landscape photography has developed my ability to really see and to capture the essence of a scene. I particularly enjoy creating panoramic images that portray the sense of surrounding the viewer. Black and white imagery is another area of photographic activity for me. Textural representation of an image can be just as powerful as color.
My interest in photography began in high school with the purchase of a Minolta XG7 SLR camera and a couple of lenses. Back then, I photographed almost exclusively with black and white film. Developing prints in the darkroom was a magical experience – watching the image come to life on paper for the first time is something that I will never forget.
Presently, I am based out of beautiful Wallowa County, Oregon, which provides ample opportunities for photography. Viewing the Wallowa Mountains daily provides constant inspiration and motivation for my work. I hope that you enjoy my images and return to my website often to see what is new.
All the best,
