The Invisible Made Visible

Infrared Photographs

Infrared light is outside of the range of wavelengths that the human eye can see. Three methods of capturing infrared light consist of using infrared film, modification of a digital camera, and use of infrared-specific filters that allow IR light to pass, but block visible light. Digital camera modification allows for a selection of options to target specific wavelengths within the IR spectrum to be allowed to pass to the camera sensor. Some options allow for visible light to be included, while others restrict or completely block visible light. Resulting images can be edited and viewed by the human eye, revealing a somewhat surrealistic representation of our world. My Fuji X-T1 camera was converted to 720nm.
